CC Schott, Women’s Shepherd
CC hails from upstate South Carolina and went to school at Winthrop, where she got a degree in Interior Design and volunteered with Young Life. After school, she went on the Young Life staff, and YL is what brought her to Charlotte in 2002. Over the years, God led CC through some tough years of singleness and grieving her mom’s battle with Alzheimer’s. It was mainly through those two things that turned her heart of stone into a heart of flesh; Hope Community was a big part of that.
Throughout the years, God has cultivated a heart inside CC that is passionate about women’s ministry and walking with folks through the ups and downs of their stories. In 2008, CC left the YL staff and eventually started working with a ministry for refugees in the city, Project 658. In 2012, the Lord began to calling CC away from refugees and creating ways for her to work with American women. That’s when she joined Hope staff, where she worked for a few years in addition to working at The Barnabas Center in their Community Discipleship department. Now CC serves on the Women’s Shepherding team at Hope and works for The Barnabas Center.
CC also met her husband, Mike, in 2012, and they were married in the fall of 2013. They have a son, Wally, and another baby on the way. They live in South Charlotte, and both love live music, good food & beer and traveling.
