Katherine Barringer, Women’s Shepherd
Katherine loves having afternoon tea, doing crossword puzzles, wandering around antique stores, and reading mystery novels. She especially loves going on coffee dates to talk about life and what it all means. Katherine is particularly interested in stories and themes related to redemption, home, and family dynamics. Her walk with Jesus has been influenced by the teachings and writings of C.S. Lewis, Oswald Chambers, Tim Keller, Elisabeth Elliot, and, recently, Jen Wilkin.
Katherine was born in Charlotte, NC, and grew up in the Waxhaw-Weddington area. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she majored in English and Comparative Literature with a Minor in Creative Writing. While in college, Katherine met Fitz Barringer, a fellow Tar Heel, and they married in October 2008. Fitz and Katherine moved to Charlotte in September 2012, and soon after welcomed their son Adlai. In 2014, their daughter Wynifred was born. They joined Hope Community Church in 2013.
