Below are the upcoming events on the Hope Community Church calendar. There are a mixture of men’s, women’s and church wide events that offer a great way to connect and build relationships. If you are looking for other opportunities to get more connected in the Hope community, check out our community groups page.
If you are new to or are investigating the Christian faith, we would love to have you come and join us for our Christianity Explored class at Hope SE. Starting Wednesday 1/31 from 7-8:30 PM, we will spend seven weeks (1/31-3/14) looking at the core of what it is Christians believe. This will be a great time to discuss and process these beliefs with others in the context of community. If you are interested in attending, please register here. Feel free to invite friends, neighbors, and co-workers. If you have any questions, please contact Aaron Ingle (email@example.com).
Spring Women’s Bible Study – Starting February 21st
We will meet each Wednesday morning from 10:30am -12pm. We will be studying the book, “Walking With God in the Seasons of Motherhood” by Melissa Kruger. This study will be led by several women from Hope who have years of experience raising children. So if you’ve ever longed for an older woman to come along side you in your mothering, whether you’re currently raising toddlers or teens, this study is for you! Bring your questions, your worries, and your prayer requests. We will meet in the OP Fellowship Hall each Wednesday. Childcare will be provided but you will need to register your need for childcare on our website. Click here to register. Contact Jen Guzi (firstname.lastname@example.org) with questions.
Women’s Uptown Lunches
Join women of Hope who live and work uptown for lunch every third Thursday to get to know each other and build community. We meet in the upper level of the Taste Cafe in Founders Hall (100 N. Tryon St.) from 11:45am – 1pm. Upcoming dates are February 22, March 15, and April 5. Email Carly Fortune with questions (email@example.com).
Triple P (Positive Parenting Program)
Sunday, March 4, 11, 18 at 9AM in SE Kids’ Worship classroom. Triple P is an evidence-based series that introduces parents to the reasons for common behavior problems and difficult parenting situations, and provides suggestions to prevent and manage problems, while developing healthy relationships with their children. Each week will focus on a different topic: discipline, aggression, and bedtime routines. Because this is discussion based series, it is open to the first 20 people. Register here. There is a $20 fee per family for materials. Contact Erin McClain (firstname.lastname@example.org) with questions.
Worship Community Cookout
If you enjoy coming together to express yourself through music, the worship community will be having a cookout at the OP barn on Friday night, March 16th from 7-10pm. Bring yourself, your appetite, your instrument or your voice and join us! Also, if you have an interest in being part of the team that leads worship on Sunday mornings as an instrumentalist, vocalist or even presentation (running the slides for music and sermons), we’d love to connect with you. You can email Shane Martin at email@example.com.
Annual Men’s Pig Pickin’
Men, make plans to join us on March 24th (11am – 4pm) for our annual Men’s Pig Pickin’. This is one of our favorite events of the year, as we get together to eat great food, play corn hole, shoot skeet, and hang out with other guys from Hope. We are excited again this year to have the event at the Hall Family Farm in York, SC. $12 Covers all the BBQ you can eat, along with sides and dessert. Bring your own chair and beer. Invite your friends, neighbors, and co-workers. If you have questions, contact Aaron Ingle (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Church-Wide Easter Egg Hunt
Please join us for donuts, coffee and our first annual church-wide Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31 at 10am! We will be meeting at the Hope Olde Providence location. Older children are welcome to come hide eggs at 9am. Children ages 4 and under will begin at 10:15am, and children ages 5 through 2nd grade, and 3rd grade through 5th grade will begin at 10:30am (separate hunts). 2018 Men’s Retreat
Guys, come and join us on April 20-22 in Montreat, NC for our annual men’s retreat. This weekend provides us with the opportunity to get away from the busyness of our everyday lives in order to create space for worship and community with one another. Year after year, the retreat is an amazing blend of spiritual depth and ridiculous fun. We expect this year to be no different. So wherever you are in your time at Hope, please make plans to be with us on this great weekend. Invite your friends, neighbors, and co-workers to come as well. If you have questions, contact Aaron Ingle (firstname.lastname@example.org). Register here!
Our quarterly membership class will be held Friday, May 18 from 7-9pm and Saturday, May 19 from 9am-1pm. This is a great way to learn more about the DNA of our church! This class is required for membership, but taking the class does not mean that you must become a member. Register here!
