Potluck Lunch at OP – Aug. 27th

Mark your calendars for OP’s first-ever POTLUCK LUNCH!

We’ll gather after the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, August 27, to enjoy a potluck meal. This is a community-wide, kid-friendly meal where each family brings one dish and all dishes are shared by all! Pack something you enjoy in a warmer or cooler and we’ll spread it all out after the service. Please avoid using nuts in recipes. Questions? Contact Kathy Brown at kathybrown55@gmail.com.

Women’s Quarterly Dinner

Ladies, mark your calendars for our Women’s Quarterly Dinner, September 6th, 2017. When you register you will be randomly placed into a small dinner group at the home of one of our Quarterly Dinner hosts. Please indicate which site you most often attend (SE or OP) and you will be placed with women who you will see again on Sunday mornings! This is a great way to get to know other Hope women. Fall Women’s Bible Study – Beginning September 27th

We will meet each Wednesday morning from 10:30am -12pm. We will be studying the book, “Walking With God in the Seasons of Motherhood” by Melissa Kruger. This 11 week study will be led by several women from Hope who have years of experience raising children. So if you’ve ever longed for an older woman to come along side you in your mothering, whether you’re currently raising toddlers or teens, this study is for you! Bring your questions, your worries, and your prayer requests. We will meet in the OP Fellowship Hall each Wednesday. Childcare will be provided but you will need to register your need for childcare on our website.  Click here to register. Contact Jen Guzi (jenguzi@hopecommunity.com) with questions.

Mid-week Bible Study

Join us on Wednesday mornings, starting September 13th from 6:30-7:30am at our OP location for a Bible study on the book of Ephesians. This study will run for 6 weeks at OP, and will be a great time to dig deeper into God’s Word. Questions? Contact Aaron Ingle (aaroningle@hopecommunity.com)

Men’s Ping Pong Tournament

On Saturday September 23rd, starting at 1 PM, we will kick off our long-awaited, eagerly-anticipated ping-pong classic at Hope South End (3021 Griffith St). We are capping the tournament at 48 players, so if you would like to play, you need to be one of the first 48 guys to sign-up. The tournament format will be pool play, followed by a championship bracket. This means that every player will be guaranteed at least 3 games.

If you are not interested in participating in the tournament itself, we would still love for you to come and hang-out. It will be a great time regardless, as we will have food available for those who register along with college football games going on the TV screens.

Click here to register. Spread the word, invite your friends, and we look forward to seeing you guys there!

Hope Women’s Retreat – October 13-15

Fall Women’s Retreat: October 13-15 at the Montreat Conference Center. Join us as we get away and rediscover, together, what it is to be women who are seen, sought, and set free by the real and present Jesus Christ.

Register before September 10th and get an early registration discount!  Following are two housing options:

  • For regular housing registration (Winnsborough and Glen Rock Lodges), click HERE
  • For housing in the newly renovated Assembly Inn, click HERE

We are so pleased to have Connally Gilliam as our retreat speaker this year! Serving locally, nationally, and internationally with the US Navigators, through her speaking, writing and mentoring, Connally brings the warm, strong, and revelatory light of Jesus Christ – often through the confusing questions surrounding singleness, sexuality, gender, loss and race – to the hearts and minds of women and men.
