Although Ashley moved often as a child, she considers Roanoke, Virginia her home. Growing up in the Episcopal Church shaped Ashley’s love of church and community, but hearing the gospel Monday nights at Young Life club opened her heart to Jesus Christ’s personal love for her. She graduated from Wake Forest University in 1997 with a degree in art history and religion. Serving in Young Life as a leader, she met her husband, Adam. Together they worked for Young Life for 4 years in small towns in North and South Carolina.
In the summer of 2000, Ashley and Adam moved to Charlotte and became members of Uptown Christ Central. Through their small group, they felt called to plant Christ Central Church. After serving on the leadership for 10 years, Ashley and Adam became members of Hope Community.
Ashley is a mother of college students, a freshman and a senior at Wake Forest. She spends her time painting in a home studio. In her free time, she loves be in the mountains north of Asheville and can often be seen running on the Greenway. Their family also served for 8 years with the Charlotte Fellows, both on the board and as a host family.
God has shaped Ashley most through marriage, parenting, and relational struggle.
