Mary Elizabeth Johnson, South End Women’s Shepherd

Mary Elizabeth was born and raised in the small town of Gainesville, GA, the Chicken Capital of the World! She attended The University of Georgia, studying Broadcast News with dreams of being on The Weather Channel. However, once she realized she would also need a background in meteorology, she decided to channel those communication skills into sales. She spent the first seven years of her career in pharmaceutical sales in Savannah, GA and then transferred to Charlotte in 2016, finding Hope shortly after.

Mary Elizabeth was raised by believing parents in a strong church community, and she came to know Jesus when she was young. Her relationship with Him grew slowly at first, spurred on by her church youth group and Young Life. But it was in her move to Charlotte and the kindness of God she experienced in the midst of loss and grief that Mary Elizabeth truly fell in love with Jesus and began to recognize the work of the Holy Spirit in her life. Her faith has also been greatly influenced through Hope Community Church, Sonship, counseling, and her friends here in Charlotte who have become family.
When she is not working, Mary Elizabeth loves reading, running, cooking new recipes and trying restaurants in Charlotte. She also loves to travel and is grateful to have an always willing travel buddy in her sister, Virginia.
