Nathan Winegardner, OP Ruling Elder

Nathan was born in Wabash, Indiana—the first electrically lighted city (yes, lighted!)—but, as the saying goes, got to Texas as quickly as he could. After college, he moved to Denton, Texas, for a two-year program to study with Tommy Nelson at Denton Bible Church. During his time in Texas, Nathan met the love of his life, Jessica, and they married in 2007.

Having lived in Houston and Austin, Nathan and Jessica moved to Charlotte in 2014, where he experienced what he might call a grace awakening. They joined Hope in the fall of 2015, finding a welcoming and vibrant community there. In 2020, Nathan took a leap of faith, co-founding a technology company that has since grown to nearly 200 people, many of whom are in Latin America.

In his free time, Nathan embraces a slower pace of life, much to the occasional chagrin of his family. He enjoys wandering the streets of Olde Providence on his daily walks, savoring the contemplative life, spending time with his three daughters—Margot, Hattie, and Birdie—or sitting by the fire pit in any season.
