Steven Chitty
Cotswold Site PastorSteven Chitty, Cotswold Site Pastor
Steven grew up in Orlando, FL, and graduated from the University of Florida where he studied History, Religion, and Swahili. Growing up in the church, he heard about Jesus’ love and sacrifice regularly but really began to understand the depth of God’s grace through RUF at UF and during his time as a missionary intern in Nairobi, Kenya. It was also through these two ministry opportunities that Steven first felt God guiding him into pastoral ministry.
It was in Kenya that Steven and Nicole met in 2006, and they’ve been married since 2008. They first lived in Atlanta, GA, where Steven was the Youth Pastor at The Vine Community Church. They moved to Charlotte in 2010 for Steven to attend Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS), where he graduated with his Masters of Divinity and worked as a Pastoral Intern at Hope Community Church (which was just one site at the time!). It was during seminary that Steven was encouraged to pursue church planting, so after going through the PCA’s church-planter assessment and graduating from RTS, the Chittys moved just outside of Nashville, TN, to help plant Redeemer Church Murfreesboro where Steven served as the Assistant Pastor and co-planter. From 2016 until 2025, Steven and his family have lived in the heart of Silicon Valley – San Jose, CA – where Steven served as the co-Lead Pastor at Grace South Bay.
Steven and Nicole have two daughters, Mckayla and Margaret, who are tons of fun. Steven’s view and practice of ministry has been influenced by RUF, Tim Keller, Paul Tripp, Jack Miller, Imbumi Makuku, and Brennan Manning. Their family has loved exploring the outdoors of Northern California, and they can’t wait for their girls to experience some of the amazing hiking and scenery of North Carolina. Steven enjoys fishing, CrossFit, listening to podcasts, making his girls laugh, roasting coffee, hosting friends, and watching just about any sports – especially SEC football.
