Preparing To Rejoice In Him // June 30th, 2019

Reflection

“What Is the Motive for Evangelizing? There are, in fact, two motives that should spur us constantly to evangelize. The first is love of God and concern for his glory; the second is love of man and concern for his welfare.”
~J.I. Packer, Evangelism & the Sovereignty of God

“Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church – its worship! But, missions exist because worship doesn’t.”
~John Piper

God Calls Us To Worship :: Psalm 103:10-12

[10] He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.
[11] For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
[12] as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us. (ESV)

Worship :: Rest My Soul

Rise, my soul, arise, God’s in control
You’re not alone
Rise into His light, His plans are good
You’re on His side

God of perfect peace, You are here with me
On this raging sea it’s true
You won’t let me go, You’re my joy my hope
I will rest my soul in You
I will rest my soul in You

Sing, my soul, now sing
For He is strong and you are weak
Yes, sing with everything
Your Savior’s praise wave after wave

I will call upon Your name
You’re above my circumstance
All my life is in Your hands

God’s Word Preached :: Matthew 28:16-20

The Great Commission

[16] Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. [17] And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. [18] And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. [19] Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (ESV)
