Youth

The goal of Hope’s Youth Ministry is to minister to youth and their families so that they grow in gospel dependence, become a spiritually healthy member of Christ’s body, and are compelled by the gospel toward missional living. We seek to do this by creating a gospel community for the youth that gives them the opportunity to share their lives, be taught the Gospel through the scriptures, and be involved in missions and mercy work.

Subscribe to our Youth calendar or email list below, or check out the bulletin or our social media account to stay up-to-date on our events! Generally, our Middle Schoolers and High Schoolers meet on Sunday nights during the school year from 6:00-7:45pm at the Barn, on the back of our Olde Providence property (4418 Rea Road). We’ll be starting back for the year on Sunday, September 8th!

  • Shared Lives
We want the youth to be able to share their lives with one another and create space for students to build community in the church. We want them to grow in caring for, loving, and praying for one another. We also want them to be able to share their lives with older believers in the church. As students interact with our youth leaders, we pray that leaders would model sharing their lives and dependence on Christ as an important part of the life of a believer. Whether it is Hope’s elders, friends’ parents, or youth leaders, our desire is for adults to walk alongside students as they move through this stage of life. We seek to share our lives by: meals together weekly, attending students’ athletic events/performances/etc., Christmas parties, and other fun activities together.

  • Gospel Teaching
Along with being supported by adults and seeing their faith modeled, we also hope that clear Gospel teaching will help our students see their need for Christ and how to respond to Christ’s calling on their lives. We seek to Gospel teach through: Sunday Night Fellowship (including small group time), Intro to Worship Class, Spring & Fall Youth Retreats, & other bible studies throughout the year.

  • Serving
We hope to provide opportunities for the youth to serve in the church, and to be involved in missions and mercy work. We desire to provide ways for them to have the Gospel lead them into serving their peers. Our hope is to give them a vision for serving throughout their days—at home, school or wherever they may go. We seek to serve through: a biannual international Missions trip (in the past we’ve gone to Vida Joven in the Dominican Republic), serving around the city, and having our students volunteer in areas around the church on Sunday mornings. If you have any ideas for our students serving, please email AK.
